In their relentless campaign against the usage of single-use plastic bottles, PT Yuna Asia joins the #refillution as said Indonesia arm of Primer Group of Companies, along with Hydro Flask Indonesia, partnered with Refill My Bottle- a mobile app that shows nearby establishments where people can get potable water, either for free or with a minimal fee that does not exceed the average price of a bottled water.
Currently, the app has over 5,000 downloads with around 700 “refilling stations” across Indonesia. In total, it has over 1,300 Refill Stations, comprised mostly of cafes and restaurants, in 14 countries across the world. So far, PT Yuna Asia is among the few companies engaged in retail and distribution of apparel, footwear, and outdoor equipment that are members of this program.
Starting this month, all Bratpack, Flight001 and Columbia freestanding stores in Indonesia shall serve as refilling stations where users of the Refill My Bottle app will enjoy FREE refills. Herschel and FitFlop shall soon follow suit.
By supporting this cause, the app estimates how much plastic waste a person has helped reduce, which in turn will generate points that can be used to redeem rewards in participating establishments later on.
Hopefully, this initiative will encourage more people to bring their reusable bottles at all times to help lessen consumption of single-use plastic bottles which, more often than not, don’t get recycled; hence, end up polluting the environment.
